My name is Ria, and I am the founder of Curls by Ria.

I’ve been passionate about hair and the beauty world since before I moved to South Korea from the United States. I’ve been in the curly hair game since 2018, when I started to learn how to care for my own naturally wavy hair. Then, once I got my official hairdresser’s license in South Korea, I launched Curls by Ria in 2021. Since then, I’ve invested a lot in becoming the best curl specialist I can be by receiving professional education from Curly Hair Artistry’s Mastery Program and from Cut it Kinky, the pioneers of tight curl education.

In 2024, I also received a government grant to launch my very own curly hair product line ✨VIARIA✨ to provide the best hair care supplies to keep your curls healthy, hydrated, and beautiful. I’m constantly researching, experimenting, and growing when it comes to all things hair to give you the confidence you need.

But enough of that fancy stuff. Really, I’m just a Korean-American gal from Texas who is obsessed with the color pink. I’m also a mother to the most perfect little boy in the world, which is why I only work on the weekends for now. I almost always have my pup Gamja working with me, so please let me know if you are allergic or sensitive to dogs!
